PARIS E-PRIX: VENTURI AIMING TO SHINE IN THE CITY OF LIGHTS
Monaco, 25 April 2018
The VENTURI Formula E team is gearing up to compete in the Paris E-Prix on Saturday 28 April, with hopes high following its fine results in the last race in Rome.
MAINTAINING THE MOMENTUM
Less than a fortnight ago, Maro ENGEL crossed the finish line at the Rome E-Prix in 8th place, collecting 4 precious points. Meanwhile, Edoardo MORTARA grabbed 1 point by taking the chequered flag in 10th. Those good results saw the VENTURI Formula E team tighten its grip on 7th place on the provisional overall ranking, and the objective for this eighth race of the season is clear: maintain the momentum.
AN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUIT
The Paris E-Prix boasts a truly impressive setting. The splendid Alexandre III bridge marks the northern boundary of the circuit, while the Hôtel des Invalides sits proudly at the centre of the track, and spectators can enjoy clear views of the Eiffel Tower.
“This will be a first for me. I’ve already done quite a few laps in the simulator, so I can say it’s without doubt one of the season’s most beautiful circuits. It’s very technical, there are few long straights, and a succession of turns. Having the right set-up here is more important than usual”, Maro ENGEL, VENTURI Formula E team driver.
“The track is the shortest of the season (1.920 km), and the pace promises to be high. Overtaking won’t be easy, so it should be an exciting race”, Edoardo MORTARA, VENTURI Formula E team driver.
FOCUS ON QUALIFYING
Since the start of the season, the VENTURI cars have shown that they are both energy-efficient and very fast. So the key to scoring big points is to produce a good performance in the tricky qualifying session.
“In the last five races, Maro ENGEL has been unlucky in the draw for qualifying, and Edoardo MORTARA has on more than occasion been unsuccessful with his timed lap. If the planets finally align for us, we can hope to qualify in the top 10. With our usual good race pace, we could then pick up some precious points”, Gildo PASTOR, President of VENTURI Formula E team.
Practice and the race will take place in Paris on the same day, Saturday 28 April. You can follow the event on Twitter : @VenturiGP.
