BONNEVILLE – USA : LEGENDARY MEETING-PLACE FOR FANATICAL SPEED FREAKS
Land of records since 1914, Bonneville hosts the Speedweek each summer in August, a legendary meeting for fanatical speed freaks, in extreme conditions: wind, sun, aridity, floor temperature up to 50°C (122°F). The first tries of the Venturi VBB-3 will take place during this event, organized by the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA).
LAND SPEED RECORDS CALENDAR :

- World Record attempt (FIA) : 18 – 22 august 2014 – FIA’s track modified because of flooding. A record was made : 342.170kph over a flying mile. This new record is in the FIA’s Category A Group VIII Class 8 for electric vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.
Because the VBB-3 is a fantastic test bed for electric powertrains subjected to extreme conditions and environments, this new records program represents a truly strategic R&D initiative for Venturi.
The Venturi VBB program is the first opus in the Venturi Global Challenges, a series of technological and human challenges inspired by great automobile sagas.
The Venturi VBBs belong to a long tradition of record-breaking electric vehicles. Also known as the Venturi ”Jamais Contente”, it pays homage to Camille Jenatzy’s electric car, the first to have broken the legendary 100 km/h barrier.
