Monaco, 6 June 2018
The VENTURI Formula E Team will compete in the Zurich E-Prix on Sunday 10 June 2018, with Edoardo MORTARA racing on home territory as motorsport returns to Switzerland after a 63 years hiatus.

It has been just two weeks since the Berlin E-prix, where home driver Maro ENGEL put another four points on the board for himself and the team. On the back of five successive top ten finishes, the VENTURI Formula E Team heads to Zurich determined to keep the good run going.
To that end, the teams led by technical director Franck BALDET and chief engineer Jacky EECKELAERT have been getting to grips with the 2.465 kilometers Swiss circuit, which features 11 turns. Edoardo MORTARA, Maro ENGEL and development driver Michaël BENYAHIA have been familiarising themselves with the track in the VENTURI simulator at the team’s GILDO PASTOR CENTER.

Zurich will give Edoardo MORTARA the opportunity to race in front of his home fans. The Swiss-Italian driver, who joined the VENTURI Formula E Team at the start of this season, currently lives in Geneva.

“After the Rome E-prix, Zurich is another race close to my heart. I hope we will be successful. I want us to do well, especially after a few races that were difficult, certainly, but where we proved we were fast. We need to do well in qualifying, and we’re working hard towards that”, Edoardo MORTARA, VENTURI Formula E team driver.

“I’m pleased to be taking part in the event that marks the return of motorsport to Switzerland after a break of more than sixty years. Hopefully the circuit will suit us. If it does, we can be more competitive than in Paris, for example, and hopefully get on the podium. Having said that, we can’t underestimate the competition, which is particularly strong in Formula E”, Maro ENGEL, VENTURI Formula E team driver.

“As a motorsports fan, I’m delighted that the Swiss have chosen Formula E to return to racing. It’s another sign that our category is taking this sport into a new era. It will also be a pleasure to see Edoardo drive in front of his home fans at the wheel of a VENTURI”, Gildo PASTOR, President of VENTURI Formula E team.

Practice and the race will take place over a single day in Zurich, on Sunday 10 June. You can follow the event on Twitter: @VenturiGP.
